WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO SERVE ON THE BOARD? I believe in public service and community involvement.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ABOUT DUBLIN CITY SCHOOLS? As a member of the Dublin School Board, I am most proud of how we maintain our goals of Excellence and Equity. This involves our students, our families, our teachers, and our administrators.

The Dublin City School District received the rating—Excellent with Distinction in the 2008-2009 Ohio Local Report Cards released on August 25, 2009.  This year will mark the 6th consecutive year that the Dublin City School District has earned Ohio’s highest rating.  Dublin City Schools met 30 of 30 state standards, met Adequate Yearly Progress in Reading and Math as a district, exceeded Value Added academic growth expectations, and earned a Performance Index Score of 105.

We also work very hard to be fiscally responsible in every way.  These efforts are highlighted by the following awards based on fiscal responsibility: "Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting" by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada -  Received 1995 through 2008; Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) "Certificate of Excellence on Financial Reporting" - Received 1995 through 2008; and the Ohio Auditor of State "Making Your Tax Dollars Count" Award – 2005.

Equally important to fiscal discipline are the following Credit Agency Ratings. Moody's - confirmed our rating of Aa1 - only 40 school districts nationwide have received this rating by Moody's at the time. Standard & Poor's - rated AA+ there are only 3 other school districts in the state with this high rating. These high ratings will/have enabled the school district to save several hundred thousand dollars when issuing debt/future debt.

Recently, sixteen Dublin City Schools students were named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists and two of our high schools are triple crown winners from the Ohio School Boards Association.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL AND WHY? My favorite subjects in school were political science and history classes. The subjects are very interesting.
