Hello Indian Run Families,

We just completed our first full week of school and we are starting to get in a groove. Our students have transitioned back to school so well. You should be so proud of them! They impress us every single day and we are so happy they are at Indian Run Elementary.

As the year progresses, we will be diving into more than just academics. Our students will also learn many social and emotional skills that are invaluable such as: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Our goal is to provide a world-class education and meet all our students' individual needs.

Spirit Wear Sale

We have begun a T Shirt Tuesday theme amongst our staff where we wear Indian Run shirts and colors to show our school spirit and togetherness every Tuesday. We are an IRE family!

Feel free to have your children join in on the fun.

We thought some of our families may not have IRE shirts so this is where we need your help. If your children have outgrown any IRE shirts and you'd like to donate them, here is how you can help.

Please wash the shirts, place them in a grocery bag of some sort and send them in. Feel free to spread the word to any neighbors/friends who may have children out of IRE and on to middle and high School. We don't want anyone to feel left out and thought this could be a way to help!

1st-5th graders will be using a program called Artsonia this year to create digital art portfolios! If your student has not used this award-winning program at IRE in the past, you will get an email from Artsonia in the next few days. This email will allow you to grant permission for your student's artwork to be published publicly. Artists are only identified by their first name and user number. You will be able to share artwork with friends and family that live far away!

Thank you so much for the generosity of our IRE families who donated to our Back to School Donation Drive! Your donations will make a big impact on our school this year. If you would still like to donate, our Back to School Donation Drive will be open through Monday August 30th. You can make donations the following ways:

• Checks: please make checks payable to IRE PTO. You are welcome to send these into school with your student in an envelope labeled PTO.
