High School Government Students Lead License Plate Project

Students at Ohio Senate

Students from Mr. Ron Bookmyer’s government class at Jerome High School are working to get a license plate with the Dublin City Schools logo approved by the Ohio BMV, and are about halfway done with their journey. To initiate the process, students were asked to testify in support of Senate Bill 163 at the Statehouse Transportation Committee meeting on November 15. The bill was graciously sponsored by Senator Stephanie Kunze. Since testifying, the students have begun gathering 150 petition signatures from those who “have the current intention” to purchase a plate. Signatures are not a binding contract, but a way for the BMV to ensure enough interest before plates are produced. All proceeds from the plate sales will be donated to the Dublin Food Pantry.
