Dublin City Schools Staff and Students Attend Honor Flight

Thanks to the incredible support of the Dublin City Schools community, the District Dodgeball Tournament raised more than $43,000 once the final numbers came in. This money benefited Honor Flight Columbus, and the District had seven representatives (two administrators, three teachers and two recent graduates) participate as Guardians for the flight on June 9.

The flight took 81 veterans to Washington D.C. for the day to see several memorials and monuments. The veterans and their guardians saw the Marine Corps War Memorial - Iwo Jima, visited the Arlington National Cemetery and witnessed a changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, saw the Air Force Memorial, Navy Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Women's Memorial.

We want to thank our community again for helping sponsor this flight. In addition to our dodgeball fundraising efforts, the day was also sponsored by the Washington Township Fire Department and the Nick Rozanski Memorial Foundation.
