Dublin City Schools Statement regarding Social Media accounts

You might be aware of Instagram accounts that share posts from students and alumni regarding racism, prejudice, intolerance and other misconduct. It appears these accounts are created by individuals in an effort to provide an informal look at their experiences in public schools. These posts reinforce what we already know. We have worked hard to foster a positive culture for diversity, equity and inclusion—but there still is more work to be done. Our students are reminding us that we should remain vigilant and continue improving how we educate and serve them.

If any student has an immediate issue they want to bring to our attention, we are ready to work with them. Any student may report discrimination, harassment, bullying and related concerns any time via the Report Bullying button on the District’s website and using Stay Safe, Speak Up via the Dublin City Schools app, which you may find at www.dublinschools.net. There is an option to report complaints anonymously. The Board’s nondiscrimination, anti-harassment and bullying policies are available at this link.
