21-22 School Year Update from Dr. Marschhausen

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the Board of Education and the administration, I would like to provide you with a brief update regarding health and safety protocols for the 2021-22 school year.  As you are likely aware, in the past two weeks the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics released guidance for schools. Yesterday, the Ohio Department of Health released their written recommendations for schools following their press conference.

This morning, I was among Central Ohio superintendents who participated in a video conference with Columbus Public Health and Franklin County Public Health Commissioners. The health commissioners shared that they will now review the written guidance from the Ohio Department of Health to confirm local guidance or requirements, including quarantine protocols, that will permit our Board of Education and administration to meet, discuss, and/or enact any health and safety protocols or recommendations for our students, staff, and families.

We know everyone is anxious to receive information regarding the 2021-22 school year. We appreciate your patience as we work through the details. We want to make sure we are able to make the best and most informed decisions for the benefit of our students, staff, and community. We will continue to provide you with updated information as soon as it is available.

John Marschhausen, Superintendent
