New Dublin Scioto High School Principal Announced

It is our pleasure to announce that Tom Cochran has been named the new principal of Dublin Scioto High School after a unanimous decision by our Board of Education on May 23.

"I am honored to have been selected as the next principal of Dublin Scioto High School,” Tom said. “Scioto has a well-deserved reputation of excellence and success both in and out of the classroom. I will work hard to engage the students, staff, parents and community to meet and exceed the Dublin Scioto high standards."

Tom comes to us from Marysville High School, where he has been the principal since 2015. While at Marysville, Tom focused on both cultivating a positive culture with his students and teachers, as well as building academic success among his students. He helped bring additional academic courses to Marysville High School and developed a habits of mind program.

“I am committed to creating a building culture of rigorous, supportive and inclusive educational experiences for all students,” Tom said. “This is grounded in the belief that all students can learn and deserve nothing short of our best efforts to support that belief.”

Before serving for Marysville High School, Tom was assistant principal at Upper Arlington High School (2009-2015), Reynoldsburg High School (2005-2009) and Bloom Carroll High School (2004-2005). Tom was a teacher at Grandview Heights High School and Covington High School before taking on a building administration role.

"Tom will be a great educational leader for the Scioto community," said Superintendent Dr. John Marschhausen. "We are proud to bring him aboard our administrative team and can not wait to see the great things he brings to Scioto."

Tom also has experience working with student services, College Credit Plus courses, Advanced Placement and teacher recruitment and evaluation. Outside of the classroom, Tom has served as a coach for several sports. He holds a Superintendent License from Ashland University, a Masters in Education Administration from the University of Dayton and he earned his Bachelors of Science (Comprehensive Social Studies) from Bowling Green State University.

Please join us in welcoming Tom Cochran as the next principal of Dublin Scioto High School.
