Dublin Scioto High School Named Purple Star School

We are pleased to announce that Dublin Scioto High School has been named a Purple Star School by the Ohio Department of Education. Purple Star schools show a significant commitment to serving students and families tied to our Armed Forces.

“We are proud of Scioto’s strong connection and commitment to our military families,” Superintendent Dr. John Marschhuasen said. “This recognition not only honors our students and staff, but recognizes the continual commitment to providing those tied to our military with what they may need. We are hoping to see more of our schools become Purple Star schools in the future.”

Scioto created a webpage with resources for military families. You can check out those resources at this link. Scioto is one of 263 schools announced as the Purple Star Class of 2022. The designation lasts for three years.

Scioto has a rich tradition of celebrating, honoring and supporting military families and veterans.  In fact, staff at Scioto were the first in our District to honor students who choose to pursue a military career path with a Military Commitment Ceremony which is now a District-wide celebration and event. Additionally, each year for Veteran’s day, Scioto students and staff lead the way as our District honors all who have served. We are very proud of the staff and students at Scioto who made this designation possible and are confident that they have once again led the way for our district to pursue this designation in other buildings.
