Students can find out if engineering is something they would like to pursue for a career, and if they are interested they can prepare to study engineering in college. We engage in hands-on collaborative design thinking projects using university and industry standard equipment and software packages in 3D design, data analysis, programming, and electrical circuitry. The Engineering Academy is open to students from all three high schools. Students who participate will need to travel to the Emerald Campus. The Engineering Academy is a two-period block program with three course credits:
- Fundamentals of Engineering
- Electricity, Electronics and Control Systems
- Mathematical Models and Data Analysis
As part of this program, students have to the opportunity to participate in Columbus State Courses through CCP as part of this program. In order to participate in the CCP option, students must pass the CSCC entrance assessment (which requires adequate knowledge of Alg. II).
