For the 10th straight year, Sells MS Athletics earned the OHSAA Harold A. Meyer Award for Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity. We are (1) of (2) Middle Schools in the state of Ohio to earn this distinction! Click here to read the OHSAA Press Release.

The Spring athletic season has come to a close and it was a tremendous success!  Over (250) Sells students represented their school on the Baseball/Softball diamond, Tennis court, Lacrosse field, and the Track this Spring, and we are proud of each of them. Almost 40% of the eligible 7th and 8th Grade student population participated in Spring Sports. Almost 60% of all students participated in at least (1) sport this school year! It is great to see a majority of our students benefit from the life lessons that can be learned through sport in our athletic program.

Our Spring athletic season is highlighted by the play of our Softball program. Our 8th Grade Softball team earned a 14-3 record, winning the Dublin Classic Championship! Meanwhile, the 7th Grade Softball team won 5 of their final 7 games, showing us all how much they improved over the course of the season. They finished with a 6-7 record. Congratulations to our softball players for an outstanding season.

Our Boys Tennis team continued its winning ways. They finished their season with an 8-5 record against our area’s top competition. Great season, boys!

The Baseball program had a solid season this Spring. The 7th Grade team caught fire late in the season, winning 6 of their final 7 games including wins against each Dublin Middle School! The 8th Grade team competed in many close games and improved a great deal over the course of the season. Congratulations for a great season, boys!

The Boys Lacrosse team continued its strong tradition in 2018. Our 8th Grade team won 6 big games, while our 7th Grade team earned a 4-4-2 record. Our boys worked hard and had a great season. Congratulations!

We are tremendously proud of our Girls Lacrosse program. Our girls worked hard, learned a lot, and had a great deal of improvement. Our 8th Grade team won 2 games. The future looks bright for our 7th Grade team, who finished with a 4-3-1 record. Great season, ladies!

Lastly, our Track and Field program had a very successful season. They worked hard every day to improve. Many of our athletes finished the seasons with personal best times and distances. 7th Grader Tessa Grady qualified for the OHSAA State Track Championships. She finished 9th in the state of Ohio in the 200 meter dash! Congratulations to all of our Track and Field athletes for a great season!

The mission of Sells Middle School athletics is to provide a safe, fair, and inclusive athletic environment.  The athletic experience is designed to bolster the educational experience at Sells Middle School offering fundamental skill instruction, life skill instruction, character education, and interscholastic competition.

We are looking forward to an equally successful Fall sports season with increased student participation, and continuation of academic and athletic excellence from our student-athletes.
