We would like to congratulate our 5th grade students on an amazing musical performance this week. These students have been working hard for months, and their hard work really paid off. Thank you to Mrs. Davis for taking the lead, and all of our 5th grade students for giving their best efforts for all the Wyandot students and our 5th grade families. We are very proud of you.
We ended our day today on a ‘chill’ note. Our students and staff had over 100 opportunities to dunk the two of us in the dunk tank to end our day. How successful were our students and staff? This seems like a great conversation piece for the weekend.
Our PTO will be hosting a Family Pancake Breakfast on Saturday. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time together as a Wyandot family. We are looking forward to seeing many of our families and extended families while we have breakfast together from 9:00-11:00 a.m. The cost of the event is $4 presale and $5 on the day of the breakfast. The PTO and Girls on the Run will be taking donations of new and gently used coats to give to those in need during our breakfast.
Our November House Party and Eagle Pride day will take place on Friday. The theme for our House Party is gratitude. Students will be doing a variety of gratitude activities on Friday morning, and we will be celebrating our Eagle Pride students during lunch on Friday. Please make sure students wear their House shirts on Friday.
Conger Elementary is a K-5 elementary school in Delaware, Ohio. The principal at Conger, Mr. Page, is a great friend and former colleague. There are many students and families within his building that have gone through challenging times and work hard everyday to do what is best, but they still have trouble making ends meet. Mr. Page has asked if Wyandot could sponsor 20 Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Over the past 3 years, Wyandot has sponsored Thanksgiving dinners for Conger. The families who receive the meals are so thankful and proud that they are able to provide a ‘real’ Thanksgiving dinner for their family. The Wyandot staff is taking care of the main dish, but we are looking for 20 families who would be willing to donate sides, desserts, water, and anything a family may need for this meal. If you would be willing to help, please send me an email. We currently have 9 families who have already volunteered. We need the side items to Wyandot on Nov. 25 by noon. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Winter weather is upon us, so we wanted to send out a few reminders about the cold. Please make sure students are dressed and prepared for the weather. We will be going outside for recess as long as the temperature is 25 degrees or above (including wind chill). The fresh air helps to keep the germs away from our students. Students may enter the building at 8:55 a.m. Students that arrive before this time are waiting outside and unsupervised.
Thank you for everything you do for the students of Wyandot Elementary.
