Wyandot Families:

We had another great week at Wyandot, but we are really looking forward to our week ahead.  Our Wellness Day and Walk to Stomp Out Cancer will take place on November 1. We would like ALL students to wear their House shirts on November 1.  House shirts for new students were sent home this week. If your child does not have a house shirt or needs a new house shirt, we have a few left. We will be selling them for $10.  Your child can bring in money to the office. The majority of the activities on this day will be outside, so please make sure students are dressed for the weather and dress for exercise.

The Wellness and Walk-A-Thon day has been a yearly tradition at Wyandot to raise money for the Wyandot PTO. This has typically been the PTO’s largest fundraiser for the year, but this year we will be teaming with Dublin Bridges to help a student and family in need.  This year our walk will be changed to A Walk to Stomp out Cancer, and 100% of the donations received will support one of our 3rd grade students who is battling cancer for the 2nd time. Wyandot has always been a place with great empathy and compassion for others, and now is the time we really need a team effort to support our 3rd grade student.  We will continue to sell green shoelaces before school and during lunch to support Pavan’s journey. Green is Pavan’s favorite color, so we hope putting these laces in our shoes will remind us of how we continue to support Pavan on his journey. Shoelaces are $5 per pair. Please send cash (exact change is welcomed) or check (written to Wyandot PTO) to purchase.  If your family would like to all have green shoelaces to support Pavan together, we do have extra shoelaces to sell.

Our Harvest Parties will take place on October 31.  We just wanted to share a few tidbits for this day…

  • If students choose to change into costumes, costumes need to be MERRY and NOT SCARY!

  • Students need to be able to change into costumes on their own.  Parents will not be allowed to help students change into costumes.

  • Our Harvest Parade will take place from 2:40-2:50.  Classroom parties will start at the completion of the parade.  Parents will be let into the building at 2:25 to sign-in for the parade and parties.

  • Our Harvest parties are to celebrate the students of Wyandot.  Siblings are welcome to come and watch the parade, but we will not allow siblings into the classrooms for the parties.  Space is at a premium in the classrooms, and we want our parties to focus on the students at Wyandot having a great time!

  • If you are volunteering for the party, you must have a background check through Dublin City Schools.

As the weather continues to change, please help your child dress for the weather.  We will be going outside for recess if the weather is 25 degrees and above. The fresh is keeps the germs away.

Just as a reminder, there is no staff supervision in the mornings until 8:55am.  We are noticing that many students are arriving to Wyandot before this time.

Thank you for everything you do for the students of Wyandot!  Enjoy your weekend!
