Lauren Barr selected as new Scottish Corners Principal

Lauren Barr has been selected as the next principal of Scottish Corners and has been approved by the Board of Education.

Lauren returns to Dublin City Schools from Upper Arlington City Schools where she has served as the Assistant Principal at Barrington Elementary for the past two years. Prior to her position in UA, Lauren was with Dublin City Schools for 10 years. She began as a substitute teacher at Scottish Corners before becoming a second grade teacher at Daniel Wright. She served as an administrative intern at Eli Pinney for two years. She also taught at the Columbus Arts and Technology Academy in Columbus. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toledo and a Master of Educational Administration from The Ohio State University.

The impressive credentials Lauren brings to the position are complemented by her leadership skills, and far reaching experiences in all aspects of elementary education. She has been involved in student success teams, special education issues, professional development, literacy, technology, and more. She is also a former Scottish Corners student and a 2000 graduate of Dublin Coffman.

The Scottish Corners community will have the opportunity to meet Lauren later this spring. Lauren replaces current Scottish Corners Principal Janet Rinefierd, who will be retiring at the end of the school year. Dublin City Schools thanks Mrs. Rinefierd for her many years of service.
