Thank you is not enough to say about the support and generosity that the Wyandot community has shown for our Walk to Stomp Out Cancer. In the end, we collected over $24,000 for Dublin Bridges to help Pavan’s family put towards his medical expenses. The best part of our day...Pavan and his family were able to come to our walk, and all of our students and staff were able to cheer him on with words of encouragement. We are lucky to be a part of such a great community.
We would like to thank all of the Veterans in our Wyandot Family. During this week and next week, classrooms will be learning about Veteran’s Day and doing a variety of activities to remember and thank those who serve and have served our country with pride. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher to see what activities are planned for Veteran’s Day. As a building, we will be collecting candy to send to our troops overseas and teaming with the 3rd and Goal Foundation to write letters for the troops. If you are looking to donate your Halloween candy, please send it in to Wyandot.
Winter weather is upon us, so we wanted to send out a few reminders about the cold. Please make sure students are dressed and prepared for the weather. We will be going outside for recess as long as the temperature is 25 degrees or above (including wind chill). The fresh air helps to keep the germs away for our students. Students may enter the building at 8:55 am. Students that arrive before this time are waiting outside and unsupervised.
Our PTO will be hosting a Family Pancake Breakfast on Nov. 16. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time together as a Wyandot family. We look forward to seeing many of our families and extended families while we have breakfast together on Nov. 16 from 9:00-11:00. The cost of the event is $4 presale and $5 day of breakfast. The PTO and Girls on the Run will be taking donations of new and gently used coats to give to those in need during our breakfast.
Conger Elementary is a K-5 elementary school in Delaware, Ohio. The principal at Conger, Mr. Page, is a great friend and former colleague of mine. There are many students and families within his building that have gone through challenging times and work hard everyday to do what is best, but they still have trouble making ends meet. Mr. Page has asked if Wyandot could sponsor 20 Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Over the past 3 years, Wyandot has sponsored Thanksgiving dinners for Conger. The families who receive the meals are so thankful and proud that they are able to provide a ‘real’ Thanksgiving dinner for their family. The Wyandot staff is taking care of the main dish, but we are looking for 20 families who would be willing to donate sides, desserts, water, and anything a family may need for this meal. If you would be willing to help, please send me an email. We will provide more details and dates for meals soon. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Thank you for everything you do for the students of Wyandot Elementary.

Good Afternoon Wyandot Families:
Safety is our #1 priority at Wyandot Elementary. We practice our safety drills with our students and staff every month so we know what to do in case of an emergency. Today we completed a Fire Drill in our building. We practiced what we would do in the event of a fire. Students and staff exited the building in a quiet and timely manner. Job well done!
