Finally, if the opportunity arises, please patronize First Watch at Perimeter and Duck Donuts on Sawmill road. Both businesses provided generous donations for Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you First Watch and Duck Donuts!

JJ STRONG 5K
Many of you know JJ Thomas who was an 8th grader at Grizzell Middle School last year. He has been fighting Leukemia for 2 1/2 years and has just under a year to go in his treatment. His family is planning a JJ STRONG 5K run/walk this summer to give JJ support to help him get to the finish line of his battle with cancer and to raise money for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Families for a Cure. Grizzell has been such a huge part of JJ’s support network and it would mean a lot to JJ and his family to have many Grizzell students come out for the JJ STRONG 5K. It will be held on June 15 at 9:30 AM starting outside the Dublin Recreation Center. Sign up online at runsignup.com/jjstrong. The Thomas family will be forever grateful to Grizzell Middle School for all you have done for JJ.
STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS
On Thursday, May 16, 6th and 7th graders will vote on election day for next year's Student Council officers. We are seeking candidates as future leaders, running for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. They will serve the 2019-2020 school year joined by team representatives elected in the fall. This student-led group serves its school and community, so we need our next set of leaders to chart that course. Interested students may complete a petition, available outside room 252. Petitions to run are due by Tuesday, May 14.

As a reminder, all potential fall sports athletes must attend tryouts/practices for their respective sport in the Fall prior to the start of the season. This always occurs prior to the start of the school year and this year Fall sports practices/tryouts begin on August 1st. Please mark your calendars and plan accordingly so that your child can take advantage of the athletic opportunities offered at GMS! We don’t want anyone to miss the chance to be part of our teams and to represent Grizzell Middle School. GO CELTS!
