I hope you've had a good week. Looks like it might be a little soggy for a bit of the weekend.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and we have a few fun events planned to honor the good work of our dedicated faculty. If you have a minute, please consider sending a note to a teacher that has made a significant difference in the life of your son or daughter. As we all can probably admit (I know I can), it is more common to get in touch when there is a problem versus reaching out with praise or a compliment. I have an entire list of restaurants that I should send glowing notes, but it's only those with bad service that I prioritize engaging in communication. :-( Sending a quick positive note to a teacher will truly make a difference. Thank you in advance!
Have a great weekend!
Attention Senior Parents - Arts Recognition Day
Arts Recognition Day will be held on Wednesday, May 8th from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Commons at school. This recognition is for any graduating senior planning to major in one of the arts (visual and graphic, performing, music, and dance). It is a great event and a way for us to show appreciation for the work our students have done and will continue to do at the next level. If your son or daughter will be majoring in such a field, please encourage them to check their email and reply to Mrs. Jeanne Wohlgamuth by May 1st.
Attention Senior parents and students! Our annual PTO sponsored Senior Baccalaureate service will be hosted on May 14th at 7:30 pm at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church. This inspirational service honors the potential our senior class carries into the future, featuring speeches from Dr. Miller, the Thomas Family, the McCrabb Family, and musical performances by our top performers. The service concludes with a reception and refreshments. Please join us in celebrating the class of 2019! Go Celts!
Dublin City Schools YPA Information Night
There is a YPA information night coming up. We will meet on Thursday, April 25th at 6:30 pm, at Emerald Campus, on the second floor, in the orange commons. At this meeting, we will go over basic YPA information and give helpful hints on how to begin looking for and securing an internship for the fall. This meeting is especially important for first semester students, however all future YPA students are welcome to attend. Future YPA students are also asked to check their email for more important information. We will hold an additional meeting in November for students planning to participate in YPA second semester.
Incoming 12th grade parents, please make note that all 12th graders will receive Chromebooks at the beginning of next year. This class is currently the last group that was not issued Chromebooks as incoming 9th graders. The district has decided to close the gap and issue devices to them as well next year. This will ensure that all four grade levels have a device in hand. If you have any questions, please feel free and reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jerome Clinic Procedures
Students who become ill or injured at school are to go to the Clinic to be evaluated. Please encourage your child to not phone or text a parent/guardian if they are not feeling well. In accordance with the Student Handbook, students who are ill or injured cannot be released from school until they have been evaluated in the Clinic and a parent/guardian or other emergency contact person is contacted for permission for the student to go home.
Dublin City Schools has a new app!
