The Grizzell community is amazing and so generous!  As of today, we have raised $5900 to donate to victims of recent hurricanes.  A special thanks goes out to our PTO for their support with the photobooth and the snacks AND to Mr. Hounshell for being willing to kiss the pygmy goat! In the coming days, we will be donating $3900 to the American Red Cross and $2000 to the First Baptist Church of Immokalee who will give $1000 each to two families in Florida with Dublin connections who lost everything in Hurricane Harvey.  Thank you for caring about all of the victims of these devastating storms.

Parent conferences are around the corner!  Fall dates are November 2nd and November 9th.  Please contact our guidance secretary, Katie Pack at 614-718-8613 or or your child’s team leader to schedule a time if you have a concern.  If you would like to learn more about using Schoology at home to support your child, Laura Tucker, our Technology Support Teacher, will be available to meet individually with parents.  Please email her at to set up a time on either evening to meet and get your Schoology questions answered.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Are you experiencing economic hardship such as: job loss, death of a family member, sudden move, divorce, health issues, or an unexpected emergency? Each year Adopt-a-Family matches local families experiencing a financial or medical crisis with volunteer sponsors from the community seeking to experience the joy of giving. Families receive gifts for their children and a grocery card for a holiday meal.  If you are interested in holiday assistance, the deadline to let your school counselor know is OCTOBER 19th. Applications will NOT be handed out like in year’s past.

Our MakerSpace is up and rolling!  Thank you to everyone who donated items at the end of last school year. We are stocked with all types of art supplies, colorful paper, paints, and markers. Students are using the space and we are ready to move into phase 2, collecting wood scraps and workshop tools.  If you have either and are willing to donate to our MakerSpace, please contact Mrs. Evans at 614-718-8618 or

Save your BoxTops for Education!  There will be a Labels Drive as part of the March Madness Competition, but don’t wait till then to start saving!  Simply remove complete labels from the product packaging, collect them in a Ziplock bag (with your child’s team number written on it),  then have your student turn it during March Madness.  GMS will ca$h in!  Each label equals money for our school.  Last spring, GMS netted $764 from this program and it was because YOU saved and turned in all these little labels.  THANK YOU and let’s see if we can top last year’s reward!

Kroger Shopping = EA$Y money for GMS

Remember to enroll or RE-ENROLL your Kroger loyalty card to support GMS.  You MUST RE-ENROLL each year, so if you haven’t done it yet, please take the time to do so now.  Between October 31, 2016 and April 30, 2017, GMS received over $450 just because those enrolled bought some groceries. To register your card, go to  You will sign in (create an account, if you don’t already have one), search for Grizzell Middle School, click “Enroll”, then save your selection and you’re done!  In less than 10 minutes, you’ll be supporting the school!
