Dublin City Schools Emerald Campus to open for students in 2018-19

At its regular meeting on Oct. 9, the Dublin City Schools Board of Education chose to name the District’s facility on Emerald Parkway, the Dublin City Schools Emerald Campus.

The Board had a desire to have Emerald in the name of the facility due to the frequency of Emerald related suggestions in our community survey, and to serve as a location identifier. They chose the word campus to signify this building is open to students at all three high schools. It further makes it abundantly clear this is not a fourth high school, but a branch campus.

The facility is expected to be home to the District’s current career exploration academies and allow for expansion of similar opportunities in the future.

“I’d like to thank the naming committee for its hard work and due diligence when researching possible names for the facility,” said Superintendent Dr. Todd Hoadley. “We are excited to move forward with our academic programming work, and to get the facility ready for students in the fall of 2018.”

Emerald Campus will be led by former Dublin Jerome High School Assistant Principal Kristy Venne. She is currently focused on developing and implementing programming that will allow our students to have robust career exploration experiences prior to college, the work force, or the military.
