Diamonds Ice Cream- November 2017
Diamonds Ice Cream was named the November Business of the Month award winner by the Board of Education at their regular meeting on Nov. 16.
Diamonds is an authentic Mexican treat shop featuring homemade ice cream, paletas (handcrafted fruit pops), and more. The shop has supported the District’s Latino student population in many ways since opening in January of 2015.
“Diamonds Ice Cream has supported the Dublin City Schools’ Latino Student Leadership Awards ceremony for the past three years,” said District bilingual aid Irma Ueber. “They have been very generous by awarding all the recipients of these awards with gift cards to their establishment.”
Each spring, Dublin City Schools hosts an annual Latino Leadership Awards Ceremony to celebrate Latino students who show leadership qualities, on-going success and/or academic, language, or behavior improvements. The planning committee reviews nominations of students in grades 3-12, that are recognized by building staff for demonstrating leadership in their school or for serving as good role models within the school community.
“I cannot thank Diamonds enough for their ongoing support of our Latino Student Population at Dublin City Schools,” said Ueber. “I am so glad that they are being recognized by the District for their efforts.”
The partnerships the District has with local businesses is another key component of the Dublin Difference. Our Board of Education honors one of our local business partners at its first meeting of the month during each school year. Businesses receive this designation for their contributions to a school, support group, or the District at large.
