The partnerships that the District has with local businesses is one of the key components of the Dublin Difference. Our Board of Education honors one of our local business partners at its first meeting of the month during each school year. Businesses receive this designation for their contributions to a school, support group, or the District at large.

The Greater Dublin Realty Association (GDRA) approached members of the District last year with a strong desire to build awareness and support for students in the area of suicide prevention and intervention. Though the GDRA recognized that Dublin City Schools provides programing for our students in this area, they wanted to find more ways that they could help, based on their passion on the issue.

“The District identified programming and professional development that could be further developed with additional funds. GDRA partnered with us to help raise these funds that would help us reach our newly identified goals,” said student services coordinator Lenore Cereghini. “The association has donated more than $40,000 to Dublin City Schools for suicide prevention programs.”

The new goals include expanding our mental health and suicide prevention programming for students, increasing our staff awareness and expertise, and providing information and education to parents and community members.

“Their tremendous generosity and dedication to the staff and students of Dublin City Schools, and this particular cause, is extremely appreciated. They funding they have provided advances our abilities to raise student and community awareness,’ said Cereghini.

These funds have also provided our District with the opportunity to research and deliver quality programming, which helps teachers, students, and community members identify the warning signs so that future suicides can be prevented.
