Penny Harvest

April 19, 2017

Hello Wyandot Families!

Each year I have the privilege of working with a team of 4th and 5th grade leaders from our building, known as the Penny Harvest Leadership Team. Throughout the year, we discuss issues and causes that affect our community. We research issues and organizations that support our community and debate causes Wyandot will raise money for. In the past two years we have raised nearly $4,000 to support Peace for Paws and The Miracle League of Central Ohio.

After many weeks of thought, debate, and discussion, our Penny Harvest team has again decided our cause to support in 2017. This year we will spend two weeks in May (May 1 - May 12) collecting care package items to send to our men and women currently serving in the military overseas.

To create a fun, competitive spirit, our grade levels will compete against one another to see which grade can bring in the most items. The grade level with the most items will receive a special reward from Mrs. Schwartz, Mr. Blake and Mr. Sprouse.

If you have a loved one currently serving in the military stationed overseas, we would love to be able to send some of our care packages to that location. Please email Mr. Sprouse ( if this information pertains to you.

Information about our Military Care Packages including a list of items that can be shipped, important dates, etc., will be sent home with our students in the coming days.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Sprouse (

Thank you!
