Scioto Parents (students are welcome to attend):  On January 17 at 6:00 p.m., a meeting will be held in the cafeteria to discuss how the PSAT and SAT assessments will be used by Dublin City Schools to improve college readiness. The focus will be on understanding the PSAT and PSAT scoring, free instructional resources offered to help prepare for the SAT, and applications of this College Board data. Time will be spent discussing the recently-distributed PSAT reports and the use of the data to increase college readiness.  The target audience for the presentation is the families that participated in the PSAT (all juniors and freshmen and sophomores who participated), but is open to any families interested in learning about the College Board assessment offered by Dublin City Schools.

The University of Cincinnati visit, scheduled for today, Wednesday, January 16, has been postponed until further notice.

Attention Seniors: If you have applied to colleges for Fall 2019 enrollment and your college requires you to submit a mid year transcript or grade report, please come to the Guidance office today to submit your request.

Please check with each of your specific college admission web-pages or contact the office of admissions to see if they require a mid year transcript, as many do not.

Mid year transcripts will not be sent to colleges until the week of January 22nd. See Mrs. Casey or Mrs. Lambeck at the Guidance desk to make your request, not your counselor.

Any student who is interested in an Academy program at Emerald Campus should come to the commons area near the Scioto cafeteria during 2nd & 3rd periods on Thursday, January 17 to talk to students who are currently involved in a program at Emerald Campus. They will be available to talk about their experience and to answer questions. The goal is to help 9th-11th grade students decide if they would like to apply to an academy or program. If so, students will be able to apply for Academy programs for the 2019-20 school year via the online EC Common App which will be emailed to student email accounts on January 15th and due by Feb. 1st.

Do you have a strong interest in science? Do you love animals? Then the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Program is for you! It is a 2-year program for juniors and seniors (you apply during sophomore year). It is a high level research-based program that presents a number of opportunities for academic-minded students to excel. It provides real-world experiences in an authentic learning environment. If interested, please come ASAP to the Scioto Guidance Office front desk to pick up an information packet about the application process.

Important upcoming date: Interested students are encouraged to attend the Zoo School Open House on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Conservation Education Building at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Please call 614-724-3608 for more information about the Open House.
