September 14, 2018
This week we have been busy learning about characters & settings, reading & math strategies, and began writing our first story. We continued our Alphabet review and practiced our "no excuse" words.
On Monday we will begin bringing home daily books. Please read the letter that will come home in your child's reading envelope for more information.
Next week, we will finish our review of the alphabet. In writing workshop, we will be reviewing sentence structure (capitals, punctuation, spacing, complete thought.) using our stories we wrote about the dog Rocket. In reading, we will continue to learn that "Reading is Thinking" while establishing reading workshop routines. Our new "no excuse" words will be: make, my, got, when, off, very, said, come. In math, we will be a learning strategies to add within 20. In social studies, we will observe Constitution Day on Monday and learn about families the rest of the week.
Next Friday please join us at Leeds Farm at 6:00 p.m. This is always a fun filled family evening!
