Important information for beginning in our Orientation and Hybrid Schedule
Hybrid Orientation Information
HYBRID STUDENTS INFORMATION:
Orientation for grades 1 - 5 - Begins September 8th
Orientation for hybrid students only will begin Tuesday, September 8th and continue until September 21st. During this time each homeroom will be broken into alphabet groupings (A-D, E-K, L-R, S-Z) and students will attend the AM or PM session as outlined below.

Beginning Sept. 8th, Kindergarten students will follow their regular scheduled hybrid school days.

Arrival & Dismissal
All car riders should be dropped off and picked up at our 4303 Bright Rd entrance only please. Cones will help you identify the drop off route near the building. Students will be dropped off on the back playground area and will enter in the back playground doors. K-2 teachers will meet their students in the cafeteria during orientation. 3-5 students will be directed upstairs to greet their teachers. See map below.
Bus riders and day care vans will drop off students in the Emerald Campus entrance in front of the building.
Students walking/riding bikes will also enter the building through the back playground doors also.
Students will be dismissed out the same doors they enter.

Transportation Survey
If your child is participating in Hybrid learning please complete this Hopewell transportation survey if you haven’t already. Car rider families will receive a sign to place in the dash of their car during dismissal.
Safety Protocols for Orientation
- All students will wear a facial covering (mask). All staff will wear facial coverings.
- Physical distancing of 6 feet will occur to reduce contact. The CDC defines contact as closer than 6ft for longer than 15 minutes.
- Directional hallways will be established to reduce crossing paths.
- Multiple entrance doors for arrival and dismissal to reduce congestion.
- Regular cleaning of bathrooms and common areas throughout the day.
- Sanitizing classrooms and common touchpoint areas between the AM/PM session.
- Ventilation will be monitored by operations.
- Students will be assigned personal spaces and materials and seating 6ft apart.
- Hand sanitizer and soap will be provided in all classroom areas.
Orientation Priorities
During orientation, staff will work on the following items with students:
- Fostering a welcoming, safe and positive school climate.
- Academics and assessments - getting to know students as a learner
- Safety protocols (outlined above)
Water bottle
Water fountains will be turned off. You may want to send your child to school with a water bottle, as access to water fountains will not be permitted at this time however the bottle filling stations can be used as needed.
Breakfast and Lunch Available
Families have the opportunity to order breakfast and lunch during hybrid learning. Chartwells (DCS contracted food company) will use an online ordering system for families to order breakfast and/or lunch.
- AM Hybrid students: Can order breakfast to eat in classrooms and/or lunch to take home to eat
- PM Hybrid students: Can order lunch to eat in classrooms and/or breakfast to take home for the next morning
- RLA students: Can order lunch to pick up at door #14 in the Hopewell parking lot M-F from 12:00 - 12:30pm
