Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)

The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments give us the ability to measure student achievement and academic growth, independent of grade level, across time. Students participate in the MAP Reading (Grades 2-8) and MAP Math (Grades 1-8) throughout the school year. Parents will be notified after each administration window closes with information on how to find student results. The RIT Score indicates overall academic achievement in reading and mathematics. The RIT Percentile describes how your student scored compared to other students in the same grade nationally.

Additionally, the MAP 2-5 and MAP 6+ assessments allow us to identify students as gifted in the areas of math and/or reading as required per the Ohio Department of Education gifted operating standards. MAP scores in the 95th-99th percentile on the MAP 2-5 and MAP 6+ assessments meet the Ohio Department of Education requirements for gifted identification. Students scoring in the range for a gifted identification on the MAP assessment will be supported in their regular classroom setting through high-quality, differentiated instruction. The MAP Reading K-2 and MAP Math K-2 assessments are not state-approved gifted identification assessments. If you are interested in learning about gifted identification testing and services, visit our gifted webpage.
