Guide to Student Grading
Dublin City Schools’ Middle Schools report final grades to parents through Infinite Campus on a trimester (12 week) schedule. Middle school operates on the same A-F scale as our high schools. A yearlong course at middle school will have a grade made up of 3 trimester averages evenly distributed.
Students enrolled in a course for high school credit are required to take a semester exam at the conclusion of the first semester. The reporting of the exam grade differs depending on whether the course is taken at the middle school or the high school. For students taking high school credit courses at both the middle and high school, they will need to switch between schools in Infinite Campus to see grades. Both reporting methods are equivalent when calculating into student GPAs. Our high schools operate on semester reporting, while middle schools operate on the trimester reporting.
For High School Credit Courses Taught at the Middle School:
- The exam grade is reported separately from the trimester grades during trimester 2.
- The exam accounts for 5% of the student's overall final grade.

For High School Credit Courses Taught at the High School:
- The exam grade is included and calculated as part of the first semester grade.
- The exam is weighted as 10% of the first semester grade, which ultimately results in a 5% contribution to the student's overall final grade.
