DCS Scheduling for Success Night
On Tuesday, January 14th, our district's Academic and Student Learning Team hosted Scheduling for Success, an event designed to equip all Dublin City Schools high school students and their families with the tools and knowledge needed to confidently plan their academic future.
The evening began with an overview of the scheduling process and key information relevant to all families, no matter where they are in the process. Following the presentation, breakout sessions provided opportunities for families to explore specific topics and receive tailored guidance. Topics included:
- Graduation Requirements: Understanding what is needed to graduate and how your student will earn their graduation seals.
- Pathway Planning: Learning how to use the Four-Year Planner to create a personalized academic journey and exploring how Dublin City Schools utilizes YouScience and SchooLinks to help students connect their interests, aptitudes, and opportunities.
- College Credit Courses: Discovering the many ways students can earn college credit while in high school, including AP, IB, CCP, and CTAG courses.
- Graduation/Scheduling Info for Families of Students Receiving Special Education Services: Learning about graduation requirements, pathways and resources that are designed to support students who are receiving intervention services through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan.
Please note: This event provided a general overview regarding how currently-offered courses align with future college and career plans. Specific information about meeting graduation requirements and using Infinite Campus to create a course plan will be shared with students by guidance counselors and principals at the building.
