About OhioHealth at DCS
Our OhioHealth Dublin Family Medicine (DFM) and Dublin City School District partnership aims to provide advocacy and healthcare services for all students in Dublin City Schools, including those who are unable to access care due to financial barriers and other social determinants of health.
In 2021, the OhioHealth Dublin Family Medicine School-Based Health Clinic was created to provide mandatory school vaccines to students at Davis Middle School during school hours. It has proven to be effective in reducing the number of students with school vaccination noncompliance, while simultaneously allowing students to maintain their access to education.
The DFM School-Based Health Clinic is a community-centered primary care program facilitated by the Dublin Methodist Family Medicine Residency Program. Our residency program was founded with the mission of preparing family physicians for practice and providing leadership through community-centered wellness. OhioHealth’s mission is “to improve the health of those we serve.” To fully achieve both missions, we recognize the need to expand our services beyond providing high-quality healthcare within the walls of our office to serve the greater community. Our DFM School-Based Health Clinic is an innovative approach for our physicians to serve families, including the pediatric and adolescent populations in Dublin and the surrounding community.
Our partnership aims to provide advocacy and healthcare services for all students in Dublin City Schools, including those with lack of access to health care due to financial barriers and other social determinants of health (transportation, housing, work-life balance, etc.). Our DFM School-Based Health Clinic is currently held monthly at both Davis Middle School and Hopewell Elementary School. We provide services such as well-child visits, sports physicals, school-required vaccinations, and other age-appropriate recommended vaccinations after parental consent is obtained. We hope to expand the DFM School-Based Health Clinic to more Dublin City schools this year.
