We fill a majority of our substitute needs through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO). Applications for substitute teacher (certificated) or substitute support staff (classified) may be completed by accessing the ESCCO website.

Substitute Teacher Pay Rates

$155.00 per day

$180.00 per day for Intervention Specialist Assignments

$180.00 per day for retired Dublin Teachers

$180.00 per day after 61+ consecutive days in Dublin, with no interruptions
Classified Substitutes (Clerical, Paraprofessional, Custodial, Clinic Aide)
Substitute Bus Drivers and Aides
Candidates interested in substituting as a bus driver or aide are hired directly through the Dublin City Schools Transportation Department. A training process to become a driver is involved. New drivers get paid training (25-35 hours of classroom and in-bus) and once someone is trained and obtains their certificate to drive a school bus, they work every school day. There is no call-in system. New drivers and aides work 25-32 hours/week during the school year.
