Transcripts & Student Records
Dublin City Schools follows the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (34 CFR Part 99), which grants parents and eligible students the right to inspect, review, and obtain copies of student records.
Student records are not public records and are protected under federal law. Requests for student records must follow the specific process outlined below. To request public records, please visit our Public Records Requests page.
Who Can Request Student Records?
- Parents of students under 18.
- Eligible students (students who are 18 years or older or attending a postsecondary institution).
- Courts, attorneys, and legal entities may request student records through a lawfully issued subpoena or court order.
- Law enforcement agencies may access records without prior consent only in specific cases permitted by FERPA, such as health and safety emergencies.
How to Request Student Records
To request a copy of transcripts or school records, please follow these steps:
1. Download and complete 8330-F5 Student Record Request Form.
2. Submit the fully completed form to the appropriate contact.
>> If it has been more than two years since you graduated or last attended Dublin City Schools: Email your name, date of birth, and address of where you want the records sent to Kate Friedman - friedman_kate@dublinschools.
>> If you are a current high school student or it has been less than two years since you graduated or last attended Dublin City Schools: Email your name, date of birth, and address of where you want the records sent to your high school's registrar.
