Young Alumni Achievement Award

OliverLewis

Oliver Lewis

Oliver Lewis, a 2014 graduate of Dublin Coffman High School, has built an impressive career as an entrepreneur and craftsman, transforming vision into reality through hard work, innovation, and persistence. Shortly after graduation, he founded Lewis Designs Custom Cabinetry in a modest 800-square-foot workshop. What started as a lean operation quickly evolved into a full-scale, high-end remodeling and manufacturing company. Today, Lewis Designs operates out of a 15,000-square-foot facility outfitted with advanced equipment—purchased entirely without bank loans—allowing Oliver to keep operations efficient and overhead low.

Under his leadership, the company expanded from cabinetry into complete kitchen, bath, and whole-home remodeling, providing end-to-end control over the design and build process. With revenues exceeding $2 million annually, Oliver continues to push for growth. He is also developing a new venture, Select by Lewis Designs, a modern semi-custom cabinetry line designed to make high-quality craftsmanship more accessible to a broader market.

Beyond cabinetry, Oliver has pursued several entrepreneurial ventures that shaped his business philosophy. He co-founded Chalkbord, a local app created with fellow Dublin graduates to help small restaurants attract customers through deals and promotions. Though the app faced scaling challenges, it delivered important lessons in startup dynamics and collaboration. Currently, he is developing Corvus, a patent-pending modular gun case organization system that combines precision engineering with practical storage solutions.

Looking ahead, Oliver’s long-term goal is to reinvest his entrepreneurial success into other businesses. Now an SEC-accredited investor, he is launching his angel investment company, Ambition Exceeds Talent, focused on supporting small, underdog businesses with real growth potential.

In his free time, Oliver enjoys practicing marksmanship, savoring long dinners with friends, and investing in meaningful relationships. Through every venture, he has carried forward the lessons he values most: ambition outweighs talent, consistency builds success, and the real edge comes from a willingness to outwork anyone. His journey demonstrates the power of vision paired with relentless action—a mindset rooted in his Dublin beginnings and carried into every endeavor he pursues.

Kyle Vandeveer

Kyle Vandeveer, a 2014 graduate of Dublin Coffman High School, has built a career defined by innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. After Coffman, he attended The Ohio State University, earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2018. While at OSU, he was part of the Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE) Scholars program, where he developed the skills to turn ideas into ventures with real-world impact. His entrepreneurial journey began even earlier—during high school—when he launched an iPhone repair business that he later scaled into a successful team-based operation with house-call services across Columbus.

As a freshman at Ohio State, Kyle founded Intrism, a company that designs and produces laser-cut 3D marble maze puzzles. He introduced Intrism Pro on October 1, 2015, carefully engineered for scalable manufacturing. What started as a college project has since become a global brand. Since 2020, Kyle has led Intrism full-time, overseeing design, production, and worldwide sales of puzzles that challenge creativity and problem-solving. With multiple models released and more in development, Intrism continues to grow as a leader in the puzzle space.

Kyle also gained valuable industry experience with Tesla, beginning in a Columbus showroom before completing two internships in California and joining the company after graduation. On Tesla’s die casting team, he helped design equipment and tooling to support cutting-edge manufacturing processes, applying engineering expertise at one of the world’s most innovative companies.

Deeply committed to his community, Kyle has hosted interns from the Dublin YPA program and welcomed students from the Dublin Entrepreneurship Academy for tours and mentorship. He also serves on the Academy’s advisory board, helping to shape curriculum for the next generation of entrepreneurs, and has been a featured guest on Dublin teacher Kevin Patton’s podcast.

Kyle’s work has been highlighted in numerous outlets, including Good Day Columbus, Dublin Life Magazine, the Columbus Dispatch, Queens Gazette, Scientifics Direct Magazine, and Make Magazine. His puzzles have been showcased at major events such as the New York Toy Fair and carried by national retailers.

Outside of his ventures, Kyle is passionate about adventure—whether rock climbing, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, or traveling, he thrives on experiences that combine creativity, gravity, and exploration.
