Mike Ulring: Principal

Mike is starting his 27th year at Coffman High School and his 11th year as the principal. He began his career at Coffman teaching mathematics. In his tenure at Coffman he has also served as dean of students, assistant principal, and coached baseball for 13 years. Mike received his superintendent’s license from the University of Dayton, his master’s degree in educational policy and leadership from The Ohio State University, and bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Texas Wesleyan University. He is currently the president of the 32-member Ohio Capital Conference and a member of the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators. Mike’s proudest accomplishment is his marriage to Tina Ulring and their 4 children who attend, or have attended, Dublin Schools.

Ryan McClure: Assistant Principal

Ryan is starting his 19th year in administration. This will be his 6th year with Coffman. Prior to joining the Dublin City Schools, Ryan served as an assistant principal for 1 year, athletic director for 5 years, and building principal for seven years. Ryan taught business and physical education classes for six years prior to taking an administrative position. Ryan has his superintendent's license from Ashland University, principal's license from Cleveland State University, master's degree in educational leadership from Defiance College, business education license from the University of Findlay, and bachelor's degree in business administration from Bluffton University. Ryan is married to Beth.  They have four children: Maya, Colin, Deacon, and Cole.

R. Matthew Parrill: Assistant Principal

Matt is beginning his 13th year overall as an administrator and his 5th year at Dublin Coffman High School as an assistant principal. Along with his current assignment at Coffman, Matt has served in a variety of roles including both a middle school and high school language arts teacher, head football coach, athletic director, and intermediate school principal.  Matt received his superintendent's license from The Ohio State University, master's degree in educational leadership from The University of Cincinnati, and bachelor's degree in secondary education integrated language arts from The University of Akron.  Outside of school, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Leah and their four children.

Valerie Lawrensen: Assistant Principal

Val is in her 2nd year as an assistant principal at Dublin Coffman High School  and her 5th year in administration. Prior to joining Dublin City Schools, Val served as an assistant principal and teacher at Olentangy Liberty High School. She also has over 20 years of educational experience as a Social Studies teacher and a coach at several high schools including Albany and Saratoga Springs High School in New York and Greenwich High School in Connecticut.  Val received her principal license from University of Dayton, her master's degree from the Sage Colleges in Troy, New York and her bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Val is married to Bill and has two children in the district: Nick and Emily.

Duane Sheldon: Athletic Director

Duane begins his 5th year as athletic director at Coffman.
Before coming to Dublin, Sheldon coached the Baldwin Wallace University men’s basketball team for seven seasons.Duane also coached prep basketball for five seasons at Middleburg Heights Midpark, compiling a 78-42 record.
In the 1997-98 season, he was named Northeast Ohio and Pioneer Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after leading Midpark to an 18-4 record. In 1998-99, Midpark was ranked eighth in the final Division I state poll and finished 21-2, setting the program record for wins.
After serving as an assistant coach at Baldwin Wallace for three years, Sheldon coached Heidelberg College from 2002-08, serving as athletics director for the final 16 months, before taking over the Yellow Jackets’ program.
Sheldon is a 1989 Strongsville graduate and a 1993 Baldwin Wallace graduate who earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education after a four-year basketball career. He earned a master’s degree from Ashland.
Sheldon and his wife, Laura, live in Dublin with daughter Jacy, son Ajay, and daughter Emmy.
