Elizabeth McClain

Elizabeth McClain is a Columbus native, a graduate of Bishop Watterson High School, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Governors University.

Elizabeth brings more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Her public service background includes work with the State of Ohio at the Legislative Service Commission and the Legislative Information Systems Office, where she supported legislative processes, policy development, and information systems. She also served two terms on the Dublin Community Services Advisory Commission, where she functioned as a bridge between residents and local government. Through regular meetings in which community members shared feedback on neighborhood conditions, recreation facilities, city parks, and other public services, she helped ensure those perspectives were brought forward in reports to City Council.

She currently works as a Project Manager at American Electric Power (AEP), where she manages complex projects, oversees budgets and timelines, and collaborates with cross-functional teams.

Elizabeth is actively engaged in community service and serves as President of Ohio Pet Charities, a Central Ohio nonprofit organization that brings together rescues, veterinarians, businesses, and volunteers to support animal welfare while strengthening community connections.

Elizabeth and her husband, Matt, are the parents of three sons who attended Indian Run, Glacier Ridge, and Wyandot Elementary Schools; Karrer Middle School; and graduated from Dublin Jerome High School and Tolles Career & Technical Center. Her sons have pursued different postsecondary paths, including careers as a sommelier, an Ohio University graduate and Ohio National Guardsman, and a firefighter/EMT following training at Tolles Career & Technical Center. These experiences reinforce her belief in the importance of offering students multiple learning pathways.
Her professional experience, community involvement, and perspective as a parent inform her service on the Board of Education.
