7th Grade Newsletter for Friday, May 20
Grade-Level Parent Announcements
Does your child want to be a part of WKMS for the 2022-23 school year? All applicants must be able to be at KMS at 7:30AM for our daily broadcast. Your child will be on a team that will broadcast approximately once each month. You must provide your own transportation to assure your prompt arrival each day that your team is broadcasting. Parent/guardian permission is required. The orientation meeting will be Monday August 22 at 7:30AM in room 106. Training dates will be announced as we get closer to the meeting date. Science: Mr. Cline, Miss Marshall, and Mrs. Beekman – Science students are learning about and practicing building series and parallel circuits. We will have our final test on Tuesday, May 24.
Social Studies: Mrs. Charbel, Mrs. Bowers, and Mrs. Albert – Students will complete the study of the Age of Exploration recognizing the impact of that time period on the world as we know it today.
Language Arts: Ames, Dennison, Eifert, Keefer, Kinzig, Warnecke – To close out the year and our Mystery Genre Unit, 7th Grade Language Arts students will be trying to solve a mystery next week. We are acting as detectives in a simulated crime scene activity. Summer reading information can be found on the district website. We hope you have a wonderful summer.

Math 7: Mrs. Keir - Students will wrap up statistics unit covering distributions and comparisons of data. Students who have not yet finished MATHia have the opportunity to continue working until July 17.
Math 7 / 8: Mrs. Keir - Students will end the year learning about functions and non-linear equations which will assist them as they begin Algebra 1 next year. Students who have not yet finished MATHia have the opportunity to continue working until July 17.
Math 8: Mr. Young – Students will be working with statistics and we will have our 6th annual Mathball Tournament.
Algebra 1: Mr.Young – Students will be creating two-way frequency tables and we will have our 6th annual Mathball Tournament.
- Mr. Huesman – In 7th grade Health, we will finish DAPP - our Officer Led program brought to them by the Dublin Police Department. Have a great week and summer!
- Mrs. Cockrell – Students will wrap up our nutrition unit. I have enjoyed getting to know all of you, have a fantastic summer!!
Physical Education: Mr. Hillery and Ms. Nighbert – We will finish our flag football unit and do some fun one day activities.
Choir: Mrs. Campbell – Our Pop Show is Tuesday, May 24th at 7:30 PM in the KMS Gym. Concert attire is “Beach Boys” theme (Hawaiian shirts, leis, sunglasses, or bright colored clothing). Please be sure outfits are school appropriate! Students need to report to the gym at 7:00 PM.
