Issue 5 Timeline

On November 6, 2018, Dublin City Schools registered voters approved Issue 5, a ballot initiative designed to address the District's rapid enrollment growth, as well as maintenance and upgrades at existing facilities.
Since 2007, the District has added more than 3,000 students and more than 3,000 are expected over the next 10 years. Below is a general timeline of some of the large scale Issue 5 projects and some associated items.
The District recently completed a build-out study that indicates our enrollment growth will continue until about 2036. You can view the build-out study at this link.
Below is the timeline in place for upcoming construction projects and facility openings as of the fall of 2019. This timeline is subject to change.
Summer 2019
Maintenance and security upgrades at existing schools
Additional mental health professionals hired prior to the 2019-20 school year
Renovation of Central Office into a centralized preschool begins (Central Office moves to the 4th floor of Emerald Campus)
Fall 2019
Elementary redistricting committee begins work and will complete its task prior to winter break
Middle school naming committee makes recommendation to the Board of Education
Emerald Campus third floor open for students
Ceremonial groundbreaking for Middle School 5
Construction of Middle School 5 begins
Summer 2020
Maintenance and security upgrades at existing schools
Portables removed from Deer Run and Pinney
Fall 2020
Two elementary schools open for students, Hopewell on Bright Road and Abraham Depp in Jerome Village
Centralized preschool opens at former Central Office building

Middle School 5 opens in Jerome Village
