Dear 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Parents,
Running club will begin on September 7th and be held every Tuesday and Thursday through November 2nd (weather permitting).
We will be announcing our season ending 5k soon (for those of you new to our runningclub, all races are optional).
If your child is interested in running club, please sign up for Remind text alerts. This will be how we relay cancellations-I will no longer be emailing cancellations. You have the option on Remind to select text, email, or both. They may join any time during the season, but please sign up via Remind text alerts to be sure you are receiving updates.

Students will need to be at school by 8:15am on these days so that we can ensure a decent start time. A parent volunteer and/or I will meet the students at the playground entrance by the big toy and gather them to begin our warm-ups promptly at 8:20am. Please keep in mind that students will only have about 10 minutes to get to their class after practice ends. Students should bring a water bottle and a change of shoes and/or socks. The grass may be wet in the mornings. With our weather being unpredictable, we will make a decision by 8am whether to run or cancel on days with poor weather and will notify you know by Remind text/email alerts.
Volunteers needed! Parent volunteers are appreciated and needed to help keep records and cheer on the runners. If you are able and willing to help out on the field, please contact Melanie Slavens at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Optional Donation: We enjoy offering motivational medals and certificates to our runners when they hit a certain mileage and goals. To assist in paying for those incentives, please consider sending in an un-mandatory donation of $2-$5 per runner.
