Still Need GRE School Supplies?

Were you unable to order a school supply kit for the 19-20 school year?  Although it is past the deadline to order a complete kit for your child, you still have a few options.

School supply lists are available on the GRE Website > PARENT (dropdown) > GRES Parent Forms > School Supply List 2019 – 2020.  Items on the list can be purchased in two ways.

1.     You can go to a physical store to purchase the items.  Although we list specific items, brands, and colors (which was required for the school supply kit company), it is not necessary for you to get those exact items.  Do the best you can to get similar items, but please do not worry about getting the exact specifics.

2.     You can build a kit online from the GRE school supply list by using the same company that supplies the school supply kits.  Go to > Build Your Kit.  The exact items listed on the GRE school supply list may not be available.

Lastly, we always recommend ordering school supply kits immediately when the reminders are communicated because we understand how difficult it can be to purchase the school supplies on your own.  Do not stress about specific school supplies and please communicate to your child that it will be okay if they have slightly different items than other students who have purchased the kits.

Talent Show Continue - Thank You, Mrs. Coon

Students have been performing this week in the talent shows, and will continue into next week for a few grades. Students have been very brave to get up on stage to share their hobbies and talents in front of their peers. In addition, the student audience has been very supportive and kind to their peer performers. We appreciate the leadership of the student leadership committee who has been able to apply their leadership and organizational skills. A sincere thank you to Laurie Coon, who has dedicated countless hours facilitating the student leaders with the talent shows and managing the logistics of each individual act.

Middle School Communication for Incoming 6th Graders

Would you like to receive information from the middle school that your 5th grader will be attending? Glacier Ridge Elementary attendance zone has students split between two middle schools, Grizzell and Karrer. Although the transition process is the same, each school has different activities for current and incoming students. GRE often communicates information that we receive from the school. However, if you would like to make sure that you don’t miss any important middle school information, you can sign up to receive communication from your child’s future middle school (and any school). Go to the District Website > 2018-2019 Update Student Information. You can also update sign up for emails from other schools by going to the District Website > District Info (dropdown) > Nonparent Email Signup. In addition, 5th graders received their middle school t-shirt.
