Announcement Team
Members of the announcement team practice communication skills by taking turns reading the daily announcements over the PA system and weekly video announcements.

Art Club
Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 are able to participate. Weekly meetings are held after school one day a week. Projects are usually projects not done in art class because it’s fun to try new things!

Dance Club
Dance Club is open to 6thgrade students in all of the Dublin Middle Schools. They meet once a week for four weeks to learn to dance. There is a final dinner dance party at a formal location.

Davis Difference
Are you a leader in accepting differences? Do you like to help others? Would you like to teach others about diversity and acceptance? Do you like to make new friends?If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then YOUneed to be part of THE DAVIS DIFFERENCE. Davis Difference is designed to guide students to develop the skills needed to help themselves and others accept, understand, embrace, and celebrate differences. Many of the activities will take place during the school day (lunch once a week, study center, and the classroom) with special events planned throughout the school year (sporting events, pre-dance parties, fundraisers, and community events). Students will learn to work together regardless of ability and will have the opportunity to accept the differences that exist in all of us!

FCA
Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages athletes, students and coaches to grown in their faith and sport. All are welcome for food and fellowship one day a week before school at 7:20 a.m.

Fiddle Fusion
Fiddle Fusion is a string-playing club that preforms fiddling and alternative styles of music. All DMS Orchestra students with at least one year of playing experience are encouraged to join. Rehearsals are on Friday mornings at 7:20 a.m. in the orchestra room.

Geography Bee
The National Geographic Society Sponsors this annual event to encourage geographic literacy. Students participate by verbally answering questions dealing with various aspects of geography. Finalists compete for the chance to take a written test that will be entered in the state-wide contest.

Interact Club
Interact Club is the school and community service projects club at Davis. Research shows that service learning improves student self-esteem and motivation and interest in learning. It reinforces values such as justice, compassion and citizenship and builds community support for education. Interact Club members plan, organize and lead service projects within the school and in the community. Service projects have included donations to the Dublin Food Pantry, “adoption” of families for the Holiday season, and Sole Hope project of making shoes for people of Uganda to name a few. The Interact Club is sponsored by Rotary Club. Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.

Jazz Band
Jazz Band is for those students interested in jazz music who have a skill in playing instruments that are considered to be synonymous with jazz music. The band meets before school once a week and performs various times throughout the year.

Junior Teen Institute
Junior Teen Institute is a leadership group for 6th, 7th, and 8thgrade students. At the meetings, students learn life skills to help them make positive choices. They do this through fun games and activities. One focus of the group is to encourage drug-free lifestyles. Junior Teen Institute is responsible for planning Red Ribbon Week, which is a nationwide drug-free awareness week.

Lego League
Do you like working with computers? Would you like to build a robot? Then this is the club for you. Lego league is a club in which a team of 3 to 10 students build a robot. At the end of the year the team competes in a regional tournament for a spot at the state competition. The state competition winners progress to the international Robotics Festival. Math Counts
The math team is open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. This team meets weekly and has a competition in February.

Power of the Pen
Pen Ohio is a writing team dedicated to developing the creative voice of its members. Seventh and eighth graders are encouraged to try-out for the team in the fall. The teams will meet throughout the year to develop, share, and critique creative writing pieces. Participants then have the opportunity to compete at the district, regional, and state level.

Ski Club
Available to 6th, 7thand 8thgrade students to learn to snow ski or improve their skills. Skiing takes place in Mad River after school one night per week for 6 weeks, starting in January. Transportation, lessons and equipment rental are available through different packages that range in price.

Student Ambassador
A student ambassador is someone who will represent Davis Middle School positively and help build community within our school. Student ambassadors may be asked to act as a buddy to new students, welcome parents to after school events, maintain communication with the student body, and act as a school representative to new students and adults in the community.
