Emerald Campus Announcements
Starting on Monday, November 30, 2020 Dublin City Schools will return to a 100% online instructional delivery model for all middle and high school students. This will last through the final day of the first semester, Friday, December 18, 2020. In doing so, we will be live streaming our course instruction for all students. The goal of this is to maximize our district technology to provide increased synchronous instruction (live online) to students throughout the school week during the pandemic. High school students should be available for instruction five days a week.
During this time, students will be expected to attend each academic class during the normally scheduled times on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays will be reserved for scheduled teacher/student small group meeting times as determined by the teacher. Attendance will be taken for students daily, accordingly.
An intention of this initiative is to allow for the full group to connect and then for the teacher to utilize the class time as needed to incorporate the applicable elements of the workshop model, including, but not limited to, short lessons, group or independent work, and differentiated experiences. This will vary by teacher and will include allowing students to hop off the live streaming and work independently.
We have a wonderful new student-driven Writing Center available as a service to students. The writing center desk is available on the 3rd floor of the EC building in our newly redesigned space, the Library Learning Commons (LLC). The desk is staffed by students who are ready to help other students through the writing process with support, feedback, and/or brainstorming help, and oversaw by our new EC Librarian, Dr. Henderson Murphy. The desk is staffed 8:30-2:30 Mon, Tues, Thur, and Fri. Students not in the building or wanting to schedule an appointment can request assistance at this link: TINYURL.COM/ECWRITINGCENTER. Here is the Flyer for the Writing Center

Dublin City Schools News
As you are aware, yesterday Franklin county was designated as “purple” in the state of Ohio’s rating system. Over the past few weeks, the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in central Ohio and Dublin have sharply increased. As such, Dublin City Schools’ middle and high schools will be in remote learning mode for the remainder of the first semester beginning Nov. 30.
A project that started in Shawn Kaeser’s classroom in 2002 to make the bullfrog the official state amphibian has grown over the years. As a result of the ongoing efforts of Kaeser and his students over the years, a bill is going to be signed to create an Ohio bullfrog license plate.
