The Winter athletic season has come to a close and it was a tremendous success!  Over (100) Sells students represented their school on the basketball court, wrestling mat, and on the sidelines cheering this Winter, and we are proud of each of them.

Highlights from the Winter sports season include the play of our girls basketball teams. Our 7th Grade Girls Basketball team finished the regular season undefeated! Their strong tournament run ended with a runner-up trophy at the Marysville Invitational. The girls ended their season with a 16-1 record. Our 8th Grade Girls Basketball team completed their season with a 12-6 record. The girls finished strong by winning the consolation bracket championship at Hilliard Memorial’s PAW Invitational. Great season to all girls basketball players!

Our wrestling program had a great season this Winter. They finished with a dual meet record of 7-7. Improving during the course of the season, the boys earned runner-up at the Washington Court House Invitational, and a 5th place finish at the Davis Duals. We are looking for big things from our wrestlers in 2017-2018!

The boys basketball program completed another successful season. The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team finished with 7 wins, and played for the consolation bracket championship in the Martin Memorial Tournament. The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team dedicated themselves to improvement over the course of the season. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, improvement, and class that they exhibited during their season. Great job to all boys basketball players!

Last, but certainly not least, the Cheerleading squad worked hard this Winter on the sidelines during basketball games. Great job ladies, and thank you for your positive support!

Beyond the on-field success and accolades, the Sells MS Athletic program earned similar success off the field. Weekly, Academic and behavioral performance was monitored by the coaching staff, yielding incredibly positive results.

The mission of Sells Middle School athletics is to provide a safe, fair, and inclusive athletic environment. The athletic experience is designed to bolster the educational experience at Sells Middle School offering fundamental skill instruction, life skill instruction, character education, and interscholastic competition.

We are looking forward to an equally as successful Spring sports season with increased student participation, and continuation of academic and athletic excellence from our student-athletes.
