Hello Scioto Families:

It’s Prom weekend, once of the most anticipated weekends in the entire academic year.  I want to personally thank the PTO, staff, volunteers, and students who make Prom and After Prom possible.  We are fortunate to have a venue like Embassy Suites Dublin for this special evening.  After Prom at Magic Mountain Polaris will be held from 11:30 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. It will be a great time, even if students are not going to the dance.  After Prom tickets will be available at the door for $20 (including games and food.) Please plan to arrive no later than 11:45 p.m.

Parents, please have conversations with your students about making these activities memorable for all the right reasons.  Be advised that the student code of conduct does apply at these functions.  Students MUST arrive at Prom by 6:45 p.m. for admittance, unless they have a conflict that has been previously communicated with administration.

Have a great weekend!  Whatever your plans, enjoy some time with your family.

College Announcement Ceremony
Please mark your calendars!   The DSHS Athletic Department will hold the Annual College Announcement Ceremony on Wednesday, May 3 (after school 2:55pm start) in the Main Gymnasium at Dublin Scioto High School. We will recognize any student-athletes that will be participating in a sport at the collegiate level during this ceremony (DI, DII, DIII, NAIA etc.).

The student-athletes and families always appreciate the support of the DSHS Faculty and Staff at this event.  Please stop in the Main Gym after school on May 3rd to congratulate this year's group of student-athletes that will be participating at the next level.

Attention Parents of Junior Students

Meningitis vaccines are now required by the State of Ohio for 7th grade and 12 grade students. Before entering 7th grade one shot should be given and before 12th grade the second vaccine should be given. Since this is a new requirement, if your child did not receive a shot at middle school age, only one shot is necessary as long as it is given after age 16. Please address this issue by sending us completed records or making an appointment to receive the vaccine. It can be given at physician offices, most pharmacies, and county health departments. If you need more information, please feel free to call the school clinic at 614-718-8325.

Volunteer for Community Service Day on May 6

Students and their families are invited to get involved in the community by volunteering at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Dublin Community Service Day on Saturday, May 6 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. On this day, volunteers assist area senior citizens, residents in need and local non-profit organizations with outdoor spring-clean up projects, such as weeding, mulching and planting flowers. Volunteers meet at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road in Dublin, to receive their clean-up location(s) and map.

Participants will receive a complimentary breakfast, lunch and a Community Service Day t-shirt (while supplies last). In addition, volunteer service hour forms will be signed at the event for students. Please note that all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to register online at DublinChamber.org/CSD.
