Dr. Steve Kucinski named keynote speaker for Community Champion Awards

“I’m very honored to be named the keynote speaker for the awards,” said Dr. Kucinski. “This great event spotlights the passionate and caring nature of the students and staff here at Dublin City Schools.”

Dr. Kucinski is a Nationally Board Certified teacher who has taught middle and high school English for 25 years. He is in his 17th year teaching at Coffman. Steve has served as department chair and district lead teacher in past years. He has a Master’s in Educational Administration and a Ph.D. in Adolescent Development from The Ohio State University, and is an adjunct lecturer there. Steve also has a young adult novel published, Between Friends, and delivered a TED Talk in Worthington in 2016 entitled, "Resolve to enjoy the goodness and beauty in each other and in life.”

Dublin City Schools is once again teaming up with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce to host the annual Community Champion Awards which will be held on April 22 from 10 a.m. – noon at Jerome.

The Community Champion Awards is a program that recognizes Dublin City Schools students in grades 4-12 and staff members who exemplify the best of volunteerism, character, leadership, and a sense of caring and responsibility for others.

“We created this program to nurture young citizens who engage society through leadership and service and to encourage these individuals to continue their dedication to our community and become the next generation of business leaders,” said Jenny Jakse, Chief Operating Officer of the Chamber.
