Harbor Yoga named Business of the Month Award winner

Owners Angie O’Brien and former Dublin City Schools teacher Heidi Bell work hard to create affordable classes that fit in with student and teacher schedules. Located near the Historic Dublin area, Harbor Yoga is devoted to providing a place to find both physical and mental strength for all ages and fitness levels.

“Harbor Yoga offers classes at a discounted rate for our students and teachers,” said Indian Run principal Jennifer Schwanke. “Their classes are offered at times that are extremely convenient for all who attend—before dawn, after school, in the evening, and even on weekends.”

In order to succeed in the District’s goal to provide a well-rounded education to students, a focus on the health and wellness of the “whole child” is extremely important. Harbor Yoga’s dedication to providing an accessible and affordable way to help our students and staff take care of themselves is what makes them unique. They are also relentless in efforts to give back to the community in other ways; they offer recurring donations and donation-based classes that contribute to charities including Pelatonia, Hoops for a Cure, Heinzerling Foundation, National Downs Syndrome, Love Your Brain, St. Jude’s Hospital, Stand Up for Downs, Pleasure Guild, and Girls on the Run.

“Harbor is a wildly popular yoga studio; at any given time, the classes are quite literally filled with members of the Dublin community,” said Schwanke. “I believe their commitment to a healthy lifestyle is truly admirable. They are an incredibly valuable local business that understands the importance of giving back to our great community.”

The partnerships the District has with local businesses is one of the key components of the Dublin Difference. Our Board of Education honors one of our local business partners at its first meeting of the month during each school year. Businesses receive this designation for their contributions to a school, support group, or the District at large.
