PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

We have had a great week at Grizzell.  Students are working hard and developing solid learning routines that will support them throughout the school year.  Custodians, Office Staff, Teachers, and Administrators have also noticed how polite and grateful students are.  Thank you for sending such wonderful children to Grizzell!  

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our Open House on Tuesday evening.  You will have an opportunity to meet each of your child’s teachers and learn about the curriculum, routines, and grading policies of each course. Open House for 6th grade parents begins at 6 pm in the gymnasium.  Related arts teachers will be introduced and updates regarding the 1:1 Chromebook Initiative will be shared.  At approximately 6:20 pm, parents will move to first period and subsequently follow their child’s schedule through 6th period.  The 6th grade evening ends at 7:15 pm.  


The Open House evening for parents of 7th and 8th grade students begins at 7:40 pm in the gymnasium.  As in the case of 6th grade, related arts teachers will be introduced and at approximately 8 pm, parents will follow the remainder of their child’s academic schedule.  The evening will conclude by 9 pm.


Thank you in advance for attending the evening and also for considering carpooling or walking to Grizzell.  As you know, our parking is limited.

1-1 CHROMEBOOK INITIATIVE - FOR PARENTS OF 6TH GRADE STUDENTS ONLY

Dublin Schools are thrilled to announce that our 6th and 9th grade Chromebook distribution days are around the corner. 6th grade Grizzell students will be issued their Chromebooks on September 25th.  In order for your child to receive his/her Chromebook, students must have a parent signed Chromebook Loan Agreement.

  • The $40 student technology fee can be paid on Ezpay or you may bring a check, made out to Dublin City Schools, on distribution day.  Please do not turn in your technology fee early to your school office. We are only accepting checks on distribution day.

  • Please direct any further questions towards your building Technology Support Teacher, Laura Tucker, or check out the 1-1 FAQ found on the district webpage.


HEALTH CURRICULUM OPT OUT REQUESTS - FOR PARENTS OF 7TH & 8TH GRADE STUDENTS ONLY

Parents of 7th and 8th grade students who wish to have their child “opt out” of the SOS (Signs of Suicide) Screener administered in the mental health unit of Health class may click here to print a form to sign and return to school.  Please return the signed form only if you would like your child to “opt out” of the screener.  Forms can be returned to Mrs. Evans.


INVESTMENT CLUB

The Investment Club meets at 7:45 am starting Friday, September 1.  Any 6th, 7th and 8th graders interested in competing in a stock market simulation and learning about businesses, come check out the Investment Club.  Meetings are in room 260. First Meeting of the School Year

Let Me Run Club

Mark your calendars! We are gearing up for another great season! Let Me Run registration for Fall 2017 is MONDAY, AUGUST 28th at 8am. Registration is easy and online! The Grizzell Team will practice on Tue & Thur from 3:15 til 4:30. The season begins on 9/26 and ends 11/9. We will have our season culminating 5k on 11/12. We can't wait to RUN with you!
