No school on Monday Oct. 2 to provide staff with additional student safety training
There will be no school on Oct. 2.
On that day, nationally known speaker Francey Hakes will be in the District to deliver the training. Ms. Hakes served as the first ever National Coordinator for Children Exploitation, Prevention and Interdiction. Leading multiple groups across federal, state and local agencies, she oversaw all child exploitation efforts at the Department of Justice, including FBI, US Marshals, Criminal Division of Child Exploitation and many others. She also served as a prosecutor for more than15 years, and has been a lead counsel on dozens of trials related to crimes against children. Currently the CEO of her own consulting firm, Hakes has agreed to provide Dublin City Schools staff with this tremendous opportunity to learn from her expertise regarding the protection of children.
“We are very fortunate to be able to bring in a speaker and trainer of Ms. Hakes’ caliber,” said Superintendent Dr. Todd Hoadley. “Student safety is the responsibility of every single Dublin City Schools employee, regardless of their position in the organization.
Training will be provided to staff in two hour shifts on Oct. 2.
“I’d like to thank our community in advance for understanding the importance of this training and for adjusting their schedules,” said Dr. Hoadley. “We do not take a day off of school lightly, but we feel strongly this training opportunity is important for our staff.”
