This year, the event will benefit the Lyndsey Rice and Kyle Colello Memorial Scholarship Funds, two Dublin Scioto High School students who died tragically in a car accident in November, and are deeply missed by their families, fellow students, and teachers.
The entrance fee is $25 per team, but the Central Office/Board of Education team will be donating more to benefit the scholarship funds set up by the parents of Lyndsey and Kyle. The Central Office/Board team challenges all adult staff teams to also donate beyond the $25 entrance fee.
“Our community has pulled together in the wake of the tragic passing of Kyle and Lyndsey,” said Superintendent Dr. David Axner. “I know many will turn out for our event to show their support for the families of Kyle and Lyndsey, and I hope many of our building staffs will become involved.”
Teams consist of 6-10 players, with six players on the court at one time.
New this year, is an elementary school student tournament and middle school student tournament, as well as a high school girls division. We are accepting entries of one student team per elementary school, and two student teams per middle school. Boys and girls may play on the same team.
A maximum of four girls teams from each high school may also enter the tournament.
Boys student teams from our three high schools have been competing all year to qualify for this tournament. The winning team will be awarded the Dublin City Schools Dodgeball Champion trophy that currently resides at the home school of last year’s champions, Dublin Scioto.
The brackets for this year's tournament are below.
