The performances will take place at Scioto Park.

The story centers on the life and death of Wyandot Chief Leatherlips. He was executed 200 years ago near Scioto park. His given Wyandot name was 'Shateyaronyah,' but he became known as "Leatherlips" because he kept his word with both the settlers and his people. Leatherlips fought for peace between the settlers and natives of the Dublin area, as well as the larger region.
It is largely accepted that he died as a martyr to his belief that settlers and natives could get along and that war was not the answer to the tensions that existed between the different peoples.
The story of the play is narrated by Bill Moose, who was one of the last Wyandot to live in this region (Bill Moose died in the late 1930s). He becomes our guide for the story of his hero, and distant relative - Leatherlips.
The performances will take place in the section of the park near where the execution took place.
