OSE Evening With the Arts
Join us on Thursday, May 12th for an Evening with the Arts. Have dinner, view student art, watch the 1st grade musical, try some robots, and buy some $5 summer reading books.
Sammy Sloth Visit May 13th
Coach Sloth, an Iowa football player, will visit OSE students on Friday, May 13th.  His book character, Sammy Sloth is a slow but determined player and has to deal with bullying from other students.

OSE students will hear his inspirational methods for dealing with bullies and learn how to be kind and develop good sportsmanship.  Books will be available for purchase.

Copper Gala
One of our students here at OSE did a fabulous job representing Dublin Schools by answering questions while on a panel in front of 120-150 guests. Four other students were greeters and responded to questions asked as guests entered the event. Some questions were: "What have you learned by being involved with Penny Harvest?" "What does it take to be a good leader?" and "What do you like best about helping your community?"
Meet Larry!

Our courtyard has a "new" friend.  Last year Mrs. Whipple brought a toad to live in our garden.  Apparently he made it through the winter. A first grader found him wandering in the media center and decided to name him Larry. Now all eyes are searching for our new school mascot!

We grow thinkers: Building a culture of enrichment
By Kimberly Pietsch Miller
Chief Academic Officer
During the first few weeks of the new school year, you may see members of our staff wearing “We grow thinkers” wristbands. This is not a new catch phrase, but a historic mantra we are reinventing this school year as we sharpen our instructional focus on creativity, critical thinking, personalized learning, and enrichment for all students.
