​Today we finished off our week with our monthly Town Hall Assembly. Ask your child about today's 5th grade town hall presentation. Our PTO also handed our the Deer Run Run lap medals and prizes. Thank you to all who helped make this event a success.
We are collecting Box tops until October 27th. Please send them in with your child for the label contest. We look forward to seeing parents this next week at conferences.

Multiplication - multiplying numbers using

Social Studies:
​We investigated many documents to determine the importance of primary and secondary sources.
Reading Workshop
​In reading groups we continued to practice our inferring skills. During workshop lessons we practiced 2 thinking routines: Circle of View Points and Tug of War. We used 2 text with different perspectives about Christopher Columbus to complete a circle of viewpoints using what we heard in the books. We used the thinking routine, Tug of War, as an entrance activity to our informational text unit.
