The Book Fair is Coming! The Book Fair is Coming!
We are so excited about our upcoming Book Fair.  It will be held in the Pinney Elementary Library from May 2nd-11th.  At the Book Fair you will find an amazing selection of great new books.  This year the Book Fair will also be open during Moms and Muffins on May 10th and 11th.  The Book Fair is a great way to get everyone excited about books, to support the library, and to stock up on great books for summer reading.  We can't wait to see you there!

Maker Monday Maker Monday

This year students have been exploring materials in our library makerspace on Maker Mondays.  Using our library makerspace gives Pinney students the opportunity to have a voice and choice in their learning, to be creative, to learn something new, and to have fun while learning.  Our makerspace includes materials with a focus in the following areas:  STEAM, technology, and literacy.  Using our makerspace also gives students the opportunity to further develop competence in the six Think Habits as part of Dublin's Culture of Enrichment.

Welcome Back to School! Welcome Back to School!

We are so excited to welcome you back to school and to the Eli Pinney Elementary library media center, a place where you can be curious, imagine, discover, and wonder. This year we have so many new books to share with you and we look forward to helping you find books you want to read. Our ipads and laptops will be used to research and share your learning and we can't for you to use our library makerspace. It's a place where you can create, learn about things that interest you, and challenge yourself. Book fairs and school wide reading events are being planned for this year, too.  It’s going to be a great year and we can’t wait to see you in the library!

Read, Learn, Create, and Share @ Our Media Center Read, Learn, Create, and Share @ Our Media Center
The mission of our library media center is to support our students’ literacy development. We will work to help students choose books and other texts to develop reading and writing skills and to foster a love of reading. We will also teach information literacy skills, so that our students can efficiently and effectively find and use information. Digital, media, and visual literacies will also be part of our instruction as students work to use technology to learn and also to create and share what they have learned.  We are looking forward to seeing you in the media center soon!
